About AHSEP The Atlantic Highlands Sailing Education Program, AHSEP, teaches sailing skills to Bay Shore Area youth ages eight to seventeen years. Students learn the basics of sailing, water safety, teamwork, and begin to appreciate sailing as a sport and a recreational pastime.
AHSEP's Mission The purpose of AHSEP is to introduce children (and adults) to sailing, using small boats; to teach basic seamanship; to advance interested students into intermediate sailing principles and then racing techniques; for students to participate in local, regional, and national regattas. Our program is taught by US Sailing certified instructors using US Sailing's proven techniques.
AHSEP's Board Members The AHSEP Board meets monthly to discuss program design, boating equipment and to act as a liason to the AHYC. 2010 AHSEP Board Members: Mike Fortier, Beth Fortier, Becky Sodon, Robert Sodon, Ted Fortier, Jack Archibald, and Corinna Thuss.
